What exactly are wedding crashers? These are actually people who attend wedding receptions without having been invited or without even knowing anybody in the wedding party. These people often crash weddings just to get a free meal, or like a movie with the same title, to hook up with someone from the party or even to steal from the other guests.

Wedding crashers often infiltrate a wedding reception or party by dressing up like one of the guests. While properly behaving wedding crashers may not disrupt a wedding party, there are those that can indeed cause trouble for the couple and the guests and ruin a perfectly good reception due to their presence.

If wedding crashers may pose a problem to your wedding party, one method you can use is the taking of names at the door. You can have somebody check the wedding invitations at the door of the reception as people begin to arrive or have names checked from a list that a doorman keeps with him and checks with every guest arrival. Of course, there is also the ticket mode of wedding crasher prevention. You can have people RSVP you for the wedding and reception and send them just the right number of tickets or entry stubs for the reception, depending upon how many people in the family is confirmed as going. These tickets will have to be presented upon entry to the reception area.

If you find that having the door to your reception venue guarded and names taken at the door is a little too embarrassing or too stringent, the chances of your having a few wedding crashers is pretty likely. You may just need to have a few ways of having trouble makers taken out, should they begin to create some chaos in your party. There are wedding crashers that are obviously out to create some trouble and tasking some of the men in your family or in your party to keep an eye out for such individuals will help keep the peace at your wedding party.

Should there be a few wedding crashers that do attend your wedding party but are actually behaving themselves and not causing problems like stealing or making trouble and are simply there to partake of your wedding feast, you can be gracious enough to let them share in the festivities and leave them to enjoy the food at your party. As long as they are harmless enough and behave themselves, they should pose no threat to your wedding party.
